I’m not familiar with Scratch Jr. Is this appropriate for very young preschoolers, including those with special needs? Also, can you make any recommendations for facilitating online social meetings between classmates? My district is restricting Zoom but we can use Google Meet. Should I invite all 15 children to 1 meeting or divide the group into smaller groups. How often?

44:07
My son is doing teletherapy and they tried to do the whole group and it was bad. I would suggest smaller numbers is better. Maybe one session, where they can see all their friends and one where they actually work on a skill but in small groups. They could also work on writing skills by writing letters to their friends. Once a week. I would think ScratchJR would be good for fine motor skills.

Any suggestions for how to help littles understand privacy issues related to online engagement?

48:20
Are there ways to extend lessons that involve mathematical representations to media literacy lessons about media representations of people or ideas?

54:40
some schools have opted to continue teaching virtually, starting off with a google meet for attendance and describing the first task or activities. Parents are facing difficulties helping their kids engaged with learning with technology

Good morning Heidi! 💕

Thanks for your suggestions on Zoom! Doing my first group meeting with 17 kindergartners on Wednesday. This whole meeting has been very helpful. Love the playpen vs, playground analogy! Thank you!
